Where the Standard Comes From

The standard used to come from TK, Dru and Cyrus. Now it comes from you.

Nothing on this page is new. We watched our best people do these things every night, and we finally wrote them down. If these words feel familiar, that's because they came from you.

2014

The idea is born

July 2014: the Skylight idea is born. Four co-founders lay the foundation: Cyrus, anh Bình, TK, and Dru. By the end of summer, construction begins on floors 43-45 of the Premier Havana Hotel.

2015

The first guest

Build complete in April. The first #TeamSKYLIGHT interviews. On July 3, 2015, Vietnam's first rooftop beach club welcomes its first guest.

2016

Year one

Restaurant construction begins. First staff trips at home and abroad. TripAdvisor ranks Skylight a top-10 must-visit in Asia.

2017

The first World Cup

The first Skylight World Cup for staff. A breakout year, guest count nearly triples to 259,000. That same year, Budweiser picks TK, our Co-Founder and Vibe Director, as its King of Nightlife.

2018

The peak year & the anthem

Our best year ever: nearly 200,000 guests. Voted #1 of 1,400 must-visit destinations in Vietnam on Weibo. And the Skylight Rap Anthem is born, written and performed by #TeamSKYLIGHT itself.

2019

One million guests

Skylight crosses 1 million lifetime guests. Busiest night ever: 1,818 guests in a single night (April 16). TripAdvisor top-10 restaurants in Nha Trang.

2020

5 years & carrying each other through

The 5-year anniversary. 1,500 guests count down the New Year on the rooftop. Right before Lunar New Year, every HOD spends two days together at Journey to the Top, our leadership workshop. Then the pandemic hits, and we carry #TeamSKYLIGHT through Covid together.

2023

8 years strong

Eight years above Nha Trang. The team stays, the lights stay on, the standard holds.

2024

The first marathon

For the first time, #TeamSKYLIGHT runs the VnExpress Nha Trang Marathon together. We train after our shifts, then we cross the finish line together. One team on the rooftop, and now one team on the road.

2025

A decade on top

The 10-year anniversary, with 2.2M+ guests welcomed from around the world. The brand levels up: Lá Kitchen launches, EOS becomes our operating system.

The culture, written down

Skylight crosses 2.3 million guests welcomed from around the world. Our strongest recovery yet. And for the first time in 11 years, the Skylight culture is written down, it's the website you're reading. The morning after our 11th birthday, every Department Head and Captain gathered for the first Skylight Leadership Workshop to live it out loud.
